Jack White - Lazaretto
What We're Listening To
What is there to say about Jack White that hasn’t already been said?
The Detroit-born rock legend just released his second solo album, Lazaretto, to the number one spot on the Billboard charts and rave reviews – and we can’t say we’re surprised.
Like his first solo outing Blunderbuss, White dances through different styles and sounds effortlessly. “Lazaretto” channels Zeppelin grooves before transforming into a heavy guitar solo session. On “Temporary Ground,” White goes folk, bringing out strings to resemble “Old Enough” from his Raconteurs days.
We’re also fans of how White is revolutionizing music. His Third Man Records label has been at the forefront of unique recording techniques for years and Lazaretto stands out as the first-ever ULTRA LP, with locked grooves, hidden tracks and more. Within its first week, the ULTRA LP sold over 40,000 copies, making it the record holder for best-selling vinyl opening since Soundscan tracking began in 1991.
Needless to say, Jack White is at the top of our summer playlist. Check out the title track “Lazaretto” here.
