We may also collect PII when you contact us with a question or concern; when you register for a sweepstakes or special contest; or when you submit a warranty claim through our website. We do not intentionally collect PII from children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, please do not submit any information through this website. Have a responsible adult submit the information instead.
We Collect Other Information In Addition to PII
We use certain commonly-used Internet technologies to collect information about users of this website. For instance, we use "cookies" (small pieces of information that are transferred by a website and stored on your computer) to determine how you reached this website and to track your usage patterns during your visit. We use the information we collect from cookies to improve the function, content, appearance, and capability of this website.
We also collect information from your web browser every time you request a page during a visit to our website. This includes your IP address, operating system, web browser software, screen resolution, and referring website. We use this information to improve the functionality of our website.
We also use aggregated information (that contains no PII) to provide anonymous statistical information to supplies, advertisers, affiliates, and other current and potential business partners.
How We Use PII That We Collect
When you submit an order, create an account, register a product or make a customer service request or warranty claim through our website, Koss collects PII that you voluntarily provide. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to fulfill your request. These other parties may include, but are not limited to, warranty service providers, credit card service companies, distributors and third-party shipping services.
Although Koss attempts to select reputable companies to provide the services that we do not provide in-house, we have not placed limitations on these suppliers from using or disclosing your information without your permission. Therefore, we encourage you to review the privacy policies of any suppliers with whom you come into contact as a result of your visiting this website. These suppliers may also contact you to obtain information relating to your warranty claim, service request or order.
We may also use certain data for certain administrative and analytical purposes such as information systems management, accounting, billing, and audits. We may use your PII to provide you services such as e-mail notification of special promotions, surveys, contests, sweepstakes, and other opportunities from Koss.
We may use your e-mail address and telephone number to respond to an order, inquiry or service request from you.
We reserve the right to disclose your PII when we believe it is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against persons or entities who may be causing injury to you, us, or others. We may also disclose your PII when we believe the law requires it.
We reserve the right to share your PII to effect a corporate transaction; or in connection with the sale, merger, or reorganization of our company where the information is provided in the normal course of business.
How We Secure Your Information
The security of your information is important to us; however, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We have implemented security measures, including data encryption and firewall technology, to secure the information we collect. We will use reasonable efforts to protect your personal information, although we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us.
Please note that we also use social plug-ins from facebook.com. These plug-ins, which are operated by Facebook Inc. ("Facebook"), 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, are accessed by clicking on an icon with a Facebook logo or other designation.
When you access our website, your browser establishes a direct connection with the Facebook servers. The content of the plug-in is transferred by Facebook directly to your browser, which then integrates it into our website. As a result of this integration, Facebook receives information that you have accessed the corresponding page of our website. If you are logged into your Facebook account when you visit our website, Facebook will be able to assign your visit to our website to your Facebook account. Please note that the transfer of this information to Facebook occurs automatically if you are logged into your Facebook account when you visit our website, even if you have not actually activated a plug-in by clicking on an icon with a Facebook logo. If you activate a plug-in, such as by clicking the “Like” or “Send” icon, the corresponding information is sent directly to Facebook by your browser and saved there.
Credit Cards - Credit card payments can be made via phone, mail or through our online e-commerce site. For security purposes and to be PCI compliant, we are unable to accept orders with credit card numbers via fax or e-mail. Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are the only credit cards accepted for payment.
