You won't find better headphones for this price. I might be a bit biased though using Porta Pros for a long time. The EQ on these are totally flat; which means any devices you you use that have EQ there are tons of room to experiment! I use Winamp to listen to music, and I must say these things have amazing bass and don't distort at all when you turn the volume all the way up. If you plan on producing with these, your project will be flat to focus on the high and lows better for EQ. Microphone is crisp and clear so no problems there.
Pros: Price, Comfort, Clarity
Cons: EQ

overall good headphones
Overall
I'm going to start off by saying that these are good headphones for their price. They have decent sound quality, something I didn't really expect out of a $40 pair of headphones. The mic works and sounds very good. It isn't recording studio material, but it is fairly good. Dragon NaturallySpeaking has no problem understanding my voice through it, and my friends on Skype say it is pretty clear. I have also tested it on Audacity and it is good. Now I will talk about the sound. If you have never had a long experience with great headphones, you will love these. If you commonly use some Sennheisers or Bose headphones you may be a little less pleased, but they would do. The only two cons that I can think of are looks and portability. These headphones were not designed to look amazing, and they look rather goofy when you have the mic up (it swivels up and down). They don't look that bad though, it isn't like people will laugh at you. The SB-40's are also lacking in the portability department as the cord is really long and they are uncomfortable to wear around your neck. You could put them in a bag, however, and have no fear as they are extremely solid and nothing short of smashing them with a sledge hammer would break these. Overall, I give them a 9 out of 10, but I will round up since this is the only review.
Pros: good sound quality, durable, microphone works well
Cons: not very portable
