Great sound but the Volume control is a PAIN.
Overall
I've now had 2 sets of these. You can't beat the sound for the size and price. I absolutely love them except for the volume control. The first one got dirty and scratchy, so I ordered another set and bypassed the control on the first set. They kept working and sounding great for a long time but I finally started using the second set. They sound great but their is a loose connection in the volume control. KOSS, keep making these, but leave off the volume control. It serves no purpose and is a headache.

Only thing bad is the volume control
Overall
Great sound, but the in-line volume control is unnecessary and quickly 'goes bad' (scratchy connection). I've had it happen on two headphones. Koss could save money by ditching the volume control and the phones would last longer.

The KTXPRO1 hits way above its weight!
Overall
I have had a number of earphones and headphones, and needed a headphone that I could use for work (so I hear my co-workers). I'm fussy about sound reproduction (not something specifically engineered for music which sounds strange for other things), and a few years ago I came across a pair of Koss headphones in a dollar store. They were surprisingly good, and our secretary kept stealing them for "transcription". I thought I would give the KTXPRO1 a try, and I am certainly not disappointed. They sound just as good as my several reference headphones, and they don't "bake" my ears like the over-ears seem to do. They let in ambient sound, which is just what I wanted, and very much enjoy the great sound. These will great for singing practise also, since I'm in the habit of pulling out an earphone during performances. Thanks for making a great, and very convenient headphone!

Incredible
Overall
I have been in the broadcast business for over 30 years. I have used Koss PRO-4X, PRO-4AA, PRO4-AAA at work but for at home listening nothing beats these lightweight power houses. The fidelity is beyond everything I have ever used and exceeds the above listed headphones which by the way nobody makes a better more transparent sounding full range headphone like KOSS. Lightweight, comfortable, and powerful. Bravo!!!

Great sound, marginal fit
Overall
These sound great. The band at the top does not make contact with my head. I have a medium to large head and the band is as small as I can make it. Do I need to wear a touque with these? :)

I keep trying, but can never find anything better
Overall
I lost count of how many headsets I purchased over the past several years, my young one destroys them like nothing. So we tended to buy inexpensive sets and I've always check them out. I first didn't think much of the then Pro 35 until my wife started complaining the other ones I was buying did not sound that well.
I didn't believe her and bought her another one, but for myself kept trying other brands always looking for the best (short of spending the hundreds for a Bose QuietConfort).
Well, dozens of headsets later, I still can't find anything that sounds better than the now KTXPRO1. I even compared them with the desired Bose, and had my Bose-owner friend test them too. We both are now on the Koss KTXPRO1 team, plus some other we introduced the headset to.
It just doesn't get 5 starts because the plug is really flimsy. Nevertheless, I repair them and "always" have two extra pairs in the box "just in case". They are extremely affordable and make a surprising gift for audiophiles that are yet to come across this Koss.
I have tried a couple of other Koss models, but this is still the best. I will eventually try something in the $100-200 range, like the PRODJ100w, PRODJ200, PRO4AAT, Pro4S or SP540, but so far it's just too much more money for the marginal gain.

"Audiophile-territory" Sound on a Pauper's Budget
Overall
For this low of a price, I have not found a better sounding headphone---it destroys some headphones at 3 to 4 times its price. I play music ( hobby) and my tastes are varied--will listen to anything--love jazz/fusion/ rock/classical/electronic/world/gospel/acoustic/"new age" / DCI drum corps. I am running a standard laptop and an old Audioquest Dragonfly v1.0 DAC--poor man's budget stuff, nothing fancy. With this combo, depth, soundstage, instrument timbres and tonal balance are amazing at this price. CONS: semi-fragile construction--take care of them ( ! ), presently a "goofy" look ( consumers may want to get out the Krylon !-- my opinion--sorry, Koss ! What happened to the-- more attractive IMHO-- all black KTXPRO design?). Very satisfying sound; I continue to be impressed every time I listen. Personally, I think this is a budget audiophile classic, and I have been a fan of it for decades through its various incarnations ( even back to the Optimus Pro 35 Radio Shack days !) A MUST buy on a budget---you will not be disappointed at this price. Despite the present look ( ! ), well done, Koss !

Best sound quality for price
Overall
I have owned several pairs of these over the years - first as the Radio Shack's Pro35 and then as Koss' KTXPRO1. I love the on-the-ear design. It reduces the ambient noise around me without isolating me completely from my co-workers.
As for durability, my latest pair has lasted 4+ years, and they still sound great. Solid bass with clear and crisp mid- and high-range sound. The are only 2 reasons why I've ever needed to buy new ones:
1) The foam pads eventually wear out from DAILY use, or
2) I've abused them by forgetting they are on my head and tethered to my desktop when I try to get up from my desk. (I usually end up flat on my back when this happens.)
This product delivers on all fronts for a relatively inexpensive price. That's why I keep coming back.

great sound, low price, but short life because of construction.
Overall
I'm on my 4th set of these headphones. The first three were from RadioShack with RadioShack branding. the current one from Amazon, with Koss branding. These headphones have outstanding sound quality. Solid deep bass, soaring highs, smooth midlevel, but the construction is subpar. Very flimsy, so I won't be investing anymore money into these. That said, I would recommend these to someone looking for low price headphones, but with the warning to not expect them to last long.

Great sound quality, amazing value
Overall
Very simple: Sound quality is terrific. Build quality and comfort are so-so but entirely acceptable for the price. In-line volume control on the cord is super handy. Apply some smart equalization and they are even better. I am using the iPhone app Audyssey and the setting for the Koss PortaPro. It boosts the highs just enough.
Pros: Sound quality, price
Cons: Warranty asks you to send $9 for shipping

KTXPro1
Overall
I'm very fussy about the quality of my sound. I'm an experienced musician and have been told I have, tonally, very sensitive hearing. I have been very disappointed with most headphones that I've tried. Lack of bass, ugly mids and tinny highs, seemingly, being the norm, I find ear buds uncomfortable and difficult to get in position. I was extremely impressed when I heard the KTXPro1. The lows are full, powerful and warm. The mids are musical and transparent and the highs are airy and, again, musical. They are also very comfortable. The KTXPro1 punch well above their price point.
Pros: Light weight. High performance.
Cons: None.

Amazing quality for the price
Overall
I am on my third pair of these. I use them outdoors and working out. I compose and arrange music and my family gets tired of hearing the playback. So I use these headphones. They are the only affordable phones I have found that will reproduce the sub bass like a sub woofer. Great phones.
Pros: Frequency response and balance
Cons: I like on ear phones, maybe you will not.

sent pro 35a in got these
Overall
Ok Koss I sent you back my beloved Pro35as that I have had for years because the left side stopped working. You did honor your warranty, but you sent me back these, saying they have replaced the pro 35as. Well my ears don’t lie and these do not sound anything like my loved 35as. 35as are more on the scale of the Porta Pros. but in my opinion and after trying them all. Love the pro 35as more than the Porta pros to. These just don’t sound the same; they sound good but not great like my loved and always looking for pro 35as.
Pros: Koss rocks, these are ok
Cons: not as good as pro 35a
