High-end audio and quality headphones have been my passion for a very long time. I have owned many pairs, including very expensive ones from brands like Hifiman, Abyss, Audeze, and Stax. As a result, I have a good overview of the strengths as well as the trade-offs that these headphones come with. I love the Koss ESP/950 (95X). They have a very special, wonderful timbre that sounds incredibly natural. They are also remarkably comfortable due to their minimal weight and low clamping force. For me, the construction, materials, and design of these headphones are brilliant. Weight and comfort are key for me, not heavy metal or wood components that offer status over substance. I doubt that metal or wood will last longer or be more robust. Scratches show up much faster on metal, and thanks to its low weight and flexibility, plastic absorbs impacts much better. The combination of a natural sound with high resolution and the fact that they feel weightless on my head makes them unique in the headphone market—regardless of price. As a fan of iconic audio gear, their long history is a huge asset to me.
